Dan Oliver
Dan Oliver is vice president for research, monitoring and evaluation at Room to Read, an organization that believes World Change Starts with Educated Children.®
Dan has dedicated over 25 years to the research and evaluation of social interventions, particularly those focused on education quality and health equity. He has conducted this work in both academic and practitioner settings, and in various geographies.
After completing his Ph.D. in educational policy and post-doctoral fellowship in human development at Ohio State University, Dan moved to the American Institutes for Research, where he served as deputy chief of party for the Educational Quality and Improvement (EQUIP1) mechanism. Dan joined the International Youth Foundation as the director of learning and evaluation, providing leadership for the foundation’s approach to monitoring and evaluation, including global metrics and learning agendas, as well as managing core monitoring and evaluation activities within the portfolio of projects.
Prior to joining Room to Read, Dan served as the evidence building technical director at Catholic Relief Services. In this capacity, he led activities designed to increase the generation and use of evidence to inform education and child protection programming.
