Sheryl Sandberg Why we have too few women leaders

Our Girls' Education Program is about opening doors to future opportunities-be it higher education or vocations. As we saw earlier this week in Raveena's story, the program's Exposure Trips help girls lean into their professional lives by seeing what careers are available near and far. Whether they're setting their sights on culinary school like Raveena, or planning to become a university professor like Thirumagal, these excursions give them the chance to focus on the next chapter, helping them cultivate post-graduation success.

That's why this #FeministFriday we're featuring Sheryl Sandberg, the author of the best-selling book, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. As Facebook's Chief Operating Officer, Sandberg is no stranger to working in a male-dominated industry and advocating for both women's rights and girls' education. On Women's Day she relayed some wise words when noting:

"Countless women are vulnerable to violence, left out of formal economies, unprotected by laws, and excluded from decisions that could improve their lives and the lives of their children."

As both a woman leader and a mother, Sandberg often discusses why our world should raise girls to be confident and assertive, qualities we heavily emphasize in our life skills program. In this talk, Sandberg touches on all that and more while relaying how women can lean into their lives, careers and futures. You can help ensure girls around the world do just that with a monthly contribution!                    Encourage Career-minded Girls
