Making room to foster a love of reading

Room to Read Nepal organizes reading actvities across schools and communities | November 24, 2023

Skill building Nepal

On International Literacy Day in September, with the aim of nurturing a strong culture of reading and learning across schools and communities, Room to Read Nepal hosted a weeklong literacy campaign featuring a plethora of reading events and literacy activities.

Called “Drop Everything and Read,” the campaign brought a plethora of activities to Room to Read partner schools across Nepal — children's story writing, read-aloud sessions, reading races, memory games and reading bingo among them. Several schools organized community-wide reading events as well, extending the reach of Room to Read reading resources to community members, including school-aged children outside of Room to Read Literacy Program schools.
