Making room for system-level change

Room to Read India brings together policy leaders and teachers for national summit on education | November 13, 2023

Skill building Community India

Inspired by teachers’ capacity to constantly evolve and meet the needs of students with creative solutions, Room to Read India dedicated its annual flagship reading campaign, #IndiaGetsReading, to celebrating the power of teachers in a child’s life.

The campaign culminated in September with a national education summit, named "Teachers as Changemakers." Organized in collaboration with Room to Read partner USAID, the summit brought together national and state policymakers from across India and primary school educators from Room to Read Literacy Program schools for important conversations on education policy objectives, classroom realities for early-grade learners and educators, and proposed solutions to some of the country’s most pressing education challenges.

Through these collaborations, Room to Read is helping to create system-level change in India.
